Free Time Card Calculator

Calculate daily hours, overtime and gross pay from your start time, end time and break.

What is the Time Card Calculator?

Calculate daily hours, overtime and gross pay from your start time, end time and break.

It subtracts the unpaid break from the time between clock-in and clock-out, then multiplies by days worked. Hours above the overtime threshold are paid at your rate times the multiplier, and the rest at the regular rate, giving total gross pay before tax.

Hours, dates and records are small details that cause big arguments when they are missing. Keeping a clean log protects everyone involved.

Tips for better results

Enter times as 09:00, 9am or decimal like 17.5. Check the result against your employer's rounding rules, since many payroll systems round punches to the nearest 6 or 15 minutes.

Record entries on the same day while they are fresh.

Keep dated copies. They are useful for invoices and disputes.

Privacy and where your data goes

Everything you type into the time card calculator stays on your own device. Zapxa does not receive your numbers or documents. If you clear your browser data, your saved entries will be removed, so download a PDF of anything you want to keep.

Frequently asked questions

What if my shift ends after midnight?

If the end time is earlier than the start time, the calculator treats it as an overnight shift and adds 24 hours to the end time. A 22:00 to 06:00 shift with no break counts as 8 hours.

Is the pay shown before or after tax?

It is gross pay only: regular hours at your rate plus overtime hours at rate times the multiplier. Taxes, deductions and daily overtime rules that apply in some regions are not included.

Is the time card calculator free?

Yes. It is free to use with no signup, no watermark and no usage limits.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your inputs are processed in your browser and saved only in its local storage. They are not uploaded to our servers.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. Zapxa works on phones, tablets and desktops. Use the print button or download a PDF to keep a copy.
